Pest Control in Homes

Posted On: July 17, 2012

Pest Control is the process of minimizing or removing a wide range of undesirable insects and other pests from spaces occupied by people. The actual process of Pest Control can take place in the home, in a place of business, or in a public building. Controlling pests normally involves using some type of insecticide to prevent them from entering the space, and to kill any pests that have already established a presence within the space.

Mosquitoes, bed bugs and cockroaches reside in almost every residence. It is possible to conduct a few preventive actions to stop them, but it is going to be better if you can have some Pest Control services at least once in a year for maintenance and prevention. These insects are extremely harmful in view of the fact that they spread diseases and pollutants resulting in sickness and allergies. You cannot be definite to regulate and manage all pests because the majority of them are almost not witnessed by the naked eye. It is also crucial that you take into consideration that the majority of parasites make their nests outside your home, and so the Pest Cure inspection must not only be restricted to the inside of your habitat.

Pest Control is very much helpful for health and other persistence of human beings. Species of pests negatively affect our lives by invading our space, damaging our property and threatening our health. Health concerns associated with structural pests include venomous stings and bites in addition to the transmission of diseases including food poisoning, allergies and Hantavirus pulmonary syndrome. Pests also can have a psychological impact on us, for example, from the unsettling feeling of knowing (or suspecting) you are living with insects, spiders, rats or mice.

Pesticides are toxic. If they are used carelessly they may damage the health of the person applying them or the health of other people in the community. They may also damage the environment. If you use a commercial Pest Control service to control pests at home, you should take precautions to minimize your exposure to these toxic substances.

Safety Precautions:

  1. Use only a licensed Pest Control operator.
  2. Obtain the full chemical name of the pesticide to be used – in case of an emergency; this will assist with first aid.
  3. Ensure food, clothes, toys, toothbrushes, bedding, towels, vegetable gardens, barbecues, pet bowls, fish ponds, clotheslines and cooking utensils are covered or removed from the area to be treated.
  4. Relocate pets during treatment until the pesticide is dry.
  5. Ensure that all doors and windows are closed if the pesticide is to be applied outdoors.
  6. Vacate the premises while the pesticide is mixed and applied, and until the pesticide is dry. Three to four hours is generally recommended. However, your pest control operator will recommend the appropriate time, based on the specific treatment used.
  7. Ensure that all benchtops and kitchen utensils are thoroughly cleaned before any food is prepared. Ventilate the house, by opening all doors and windows, for a few hours when you return if the pesticide has been applied indoors.
  8. Advise your neighbours in advance of any external pesticide treatments.
  9. Although pesticides are toxic and there are risks associated with pesticide use, Licensed & ISO Pest Control operators are trained in the safe handling, storage and application of these substances. If the appropriate precautions are taken to minimize exposure to pesticides, the risk to health is greatly reduced.

It takes the technician about 45-60 minutes to service the property for Domestic Pest Cure, also as far as Anti – termite Treatment is concerned that we can get to know after inspecting the infestation level at the Premises.

Most people have no idea what Pest Cure services should cost, so they leave it up to a local Pest Cure company's representative (salesman) to decide. However, Professional Pest Control Operator can give you the cost at the time of inspection or after having the details of your site. Cost for Anti-Termite Treatment varies according to the Area Covered, Woodwork & Problem at the site.

It is better to have a continual Pest Cure round the year. However, higher infestation is usually found in the Moisture Season & Summers.
